EVERY CHALLENGE DAY · BEFORE THE FIRST GAME

SPAWN YOUR WIFI

Cell service in the Dojo is bad. Your PC has internet. So your PC becomes the hotspot, your phone joins it, and your proof gets out the second the game ends.

Two minutes when you walk in. Never at the bell.

WHAT DONE LOOKS LIKE

You know you did it right when all of this is true, before you touch a single cabinet:
  • Your PC's Mobile hotspot switch says On, with your own network name on it. Not the default jumble, not your neighbor's.
  • Your phone's wifi shows that name with a checkmark. Cell bars don't matter anymore.
  • Discord on your phone loads. Send yourself a test message. If it shows up, you're live.
  • After every game, the score photo lands in your Discord DMs before you walk to the next station.

THE STEPS

  1. Press WIN+I to open Settings. Go to Network & internet › Mobile hotspot.
  2. Under Properties, click Edit. Give it a name nobody else will pick (your name plus your faction works: ALEX-SEGA) and a password at least 8 characters long. Click Save.
  3. If there's a Band option, set it to 2.4 GHz. Older phones can't see 5 GHz.
  4. Flip Mobile hotspot to On. Leave the Settings window open so you can see it.
  5. On your phone: wifi settings, tap your network, type the password. Then send yourself one Discord message to prove it works.
  6. Play. The second a game ends, photograph the score with you in the shot and DM it to yourself on Discord. The standup bell is for writing, not uploading.

WHEN IT DOESN'T WORK

The switch is grayed out.The PC has no connection to share. Check the network icon in the corner. If the PC itself is offline, move to another PC.
My phone can't find the name.Set Band to 2.4 GHz (step 3), turn the hotspot off and on, and turn your phone's wifi off and on.
It says the password is wrong.Go back to Edit and read it off the screen letter by letter. Capitals count.
It connects but Discord won't load.Turn the hotspot off and on once. Still dead? Use a classmate's hotspot and keep moving.
I don't have a phone.A classmate photographs your score right after your game and sends it to you. Set that up before the first heat.
Sensei will not help with wifi, photos or Discord. Ask your captain. Ask before the bell.
